[REVIEW] SQ versus KE

I just came back from Korea about 2 weeks ago from vacation with my friends.
This is my third trip there, and I'm never tired from it.

For my first 2 trips, I took Singapore Airlines (SQ) there, and this time round, it is the first time I'm taking Korean Air (KE), something new.

I shall make a comparison between these 2 airlines based on my own experience/opinon.
To me, whenever its possible, I will try to go Korea via Singapore Airlines. However, this time round, the fare for SQ was over a thousand dollars (SGD) for SIN-SEOUL-SIN, which leaves me no choice but to try on Korean Air, that costs me less than a thousand dollars (SGD) for SIN-xSEOUL-JEJU-BUSAN-SIN, due to sales/promotions.

During the check-in, procedure and the experience with 2 airlines are rather similar, so not much to comment.

Now focus on the on-flight experience. Personally, it seems to me that the seats on KE are more spacious as compared to SQ. Spacious in terms of the leg space. (My friends feel the same as well). For the entertainment, very little movies choices and thus, throughout the whole flight journey, it was rather bored. SQ for this area, is much better, as there are so much more variety. Next, meal! Both the SQ's & KE's did not really impress me. But if I were to choose on one better one, I will choose KE. At least they do have their own special main. The BIBIMBAP! It was not too bad, and was rather special.

Additional plus point for KE is that their cabin crew. They are really attentive and nice. I took a red-eye flight from Singapore to Seoul. During the mid of the journey, where most people are already sleeping, the cabin actually switch off the screen of the inflight entertainment.

Another incident which really impressed me, is during one of my domestic flights. As my friends and I are really tired from the traveling, and therefore once we on board the plane, we were already sleeping very soundly. The cabin crew actually put a sticker on the seat in front of us, to indicate that they have yet to serve us as we were sleeping, so just let them know if we require any assistance when we are awake. This is so nice of them, to ensure that all the passengers are being served, and not missing any one.

However, there are also the not-so-good points of KE. Out of the 5 flights I took with KE, all 5 were delayed. And also, my luggage was so 'injured'. Scratches everywhere, which I don't remember seeing it before the trips. SQ seems to do better in these aspect. No big scratches or damages on luggage, not all flights were delayed.

Verdict
Each airline has their own plus and minus points. If the cost of the flights are not in great difference, I will still  choose Singapore Airlines. However, if Korean Air is having a promotion, where fare is so much cheaper, I will go with Korean Air. They are not that bad.
There is another airline, Asiana, which goes to Seoul direct. I have no chance to take on this flight yet. I hope one day, there is a chance for me try on this flight.

Till the next time,
Loves.
